Lady X

Lady X, born Xishel Hyde, was the first female selector among many sounds in Belize City, and took the country by storm in 2004. Since she had a solid family foundation in music, nothing less was expected from Lady X.

As the only female to play sound in Belize, Lady X was never intimidated by the male DJ’s around her, playing alongside the likes of her father , Stone Jam, Belizean Movements, Cloud 9 Sound, Tagg International, Dignitariz, Alliance Sound Crew, & a host of other sound systems.. Among these sounds she was never known as a female selector, but rather as a DJ.

Her horizons expanded when she started working on the airwaves of Belize. That opportunity led to the branding of her name Lady X. Playing on popular stations such as More F.M., Wave Radio, Positive Vibes Radio and Krem F.M., she became known for her fantastic & unique style of mixing, cutting, and remixing.

Lady X then moved from Belize City to the US where she was introduced to a new style in the music business. Expanding & adopting quickly, Lady X took the West Coast by storm. playing with the likes of Krossfayah sound, Rock Steady Sound, Tazmania sound and at VP Records events. She made her first appearance on the East Coast, playing alongside her friend and mentor DJ Rampage.

Lady X continues to spread her skills and talent over the US at different venues in New York and California and of course, in Belize.
